Raised on the plains of central Nebraska, Josh Scheer’s music is rooted in the dirt roads, farm towns, and wide-open skies. Long before stages and spotlights, those midwest values - hard work, humility, and showing up for your people, shaped both the man and the songs. That foundation isn’t nostalgia; it’s the backbone of everything he does.
Now based in Fort Collins, Colorado, Josh has spent the better part of the last decade building a career while carrying his midwest roots with him. While fronting projects like Pandas & People gave him a foothold in the alternative world, it was songwriting that kept pulling him home, toward stories of place, grit, and pride in where you come from. His current solo work leans fully into country, helping carve out a modern Midwest lane that Nebraska audiences can recognize as their own.
Over the years, Josh has opened for artists as varied as Twenty One Pilots, Kings of Leon, Gary Clark Jr., and The Doobie Brothers. He’s earned multiple accolades along the way, including KTCL’s Hometown for the Holidays in 2020, as well as Westword’s Best Americana Artist and Best Folk Artist in prior years.
With more than 1,000 shows under his belt, Josh knows how to read a room and deliver a show that feels personal, whether it’s an acoustic set in a dive bar or a full-band barn burner. His approach is simple: say something real, play it loud, and represent the Midwest with pride wherever the road leads.
